About Able Purpose Ministries

At Able Purpose Ministries, our mission is to empower adults with disabilities to discover their God-given potential through Christ-centered education, while engaging lives with the transformative love of Jesus. Grounded in biblical truth, we strive to foster growth, independence, and a deeper relationship with God, equipping our participants to live purpose-filled lives and shine His light in the world.

Position Summary

The Executive Director will serve as the primary leader responsible for launching and managing all aspects of Able Purpose Ministries’ operations and programming. This includes developing the ministry’s core programs (monthly worship services, weekday training, and quarterly community events), leading staff and volunteers, and stewarding the day-to-day activities to ensure the mission is carried out faithfully and effectively.

This role is ideal for a self-directed ministry leader who is passionate about building something from the ground up, thrives in a startup environment, and is eager to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults with disabilities and their families.

Work Schedule and Flexibility

  • This is a full-time, salaried position, with hours that will vary depending on program activities, participant needs, and seasonal events.

  • The role will generally require availability on weekdays during daytime hours and one weekday evening per month to support the monthly worship service.

Programming Days:

  • Monthly worship services will be held on a predetermined weekday evening each month. The Executive Director will plan, coordinate, and manage these services in collaboration with the Board and volunteers.

  • Weekday programming will launch in 2025, starting with a small class meeting two days per week during weekday daytime hours. Over time, the Executive Director will be responsible for growing and scaling the program up to six days per week as resources, participation, and staffing allow.

  • Quarterly events will be scheduled and managed by the Executive Director.

Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the ministry is in an early stage and programming will expand and evolve.
Time off will be coordinated with the Board of Directors to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of leadership.

Spiritual Formation & Leadership

The Executive Director is not just a nonprofit leader—they are a spiritual leader within the ministry. As such, the health of the ministry is closely tied to the spiritual health of the person in this role. Abiding in Christ is not optional (John 15)—it is essential.

While we are not prescribing rigid spiritual metrics, we do expect the Executive Director to actively pursue a Christ-centered life that includes:

  • A consistent, personal relationship with Jesus, expressed through time in Scripture and prayer

  • Shared life with other believers, both inside and outside of Able Purpose Ministries

  • A regular rhythm of Sabbath rest, recognizing that ministry fruitfulness flows from dependence on God, not personal striving

These practices are not just encouraged—they are expected. The Board of Directors will provide support and accountability in this area, recognizing that spiritual formation is foundational to the long-term health and impact of the Executive Director and the ministry as a whole.
